SUBMISSIONS:




40 Below Ink is currently accepting submissions, agented and unagented, from  Alaska writers.

Fiction: Contemporary adult, multicultural, mystery, women's, children's, with Alaska central to the plot. No westerns, historical, horror or science fiction.

Non-Fiction: Life in Alaska, cookbooks, art, self-help, women's issues, recreation, pop-culture and humor. No religion, true crime, psychology, military/war, politics or finance. Must be related to life in Alaska.

For fiction, please submit:

    1. One-page cover letter 
    2. Cover page with word count
    3. Ten-page synopsis
    4. First three chapters
    5. Self-addressed, stamped envelope with sufficient postage for return of your
            materials. 

For non-fiction, please submit a proposal, including:

    1. One-page cover letter
    2. Cover page
    3. Overview
    4. Marketing analysis
    5. Chapter outline
    6. Chapter-by-chapter summary
    7. Sample chapter
    8. Author information
    9. Self-addressed, stamped envelope with sufficient postage for return of your
             materials.

Submission tips:

    1. Please edit your work for spelling and grammar.
    2. Remember to keep a copy of all your work.
    3. Please send only what we have requested.
    4. For fiction, only submit if your manuscript is completed.
